Map Turtle Question (need an expert)

So, I've found a hatchling map turtle in a swimming pool next to the Tennessee river (northeast Alabama). It has to be only a few days old. It's probably a false map or Mississippi. Here's my question: how rare are turtle hatchings in September? Anyone know of a map turtle species that would more frequently hatch this late in the year compared to the others? Also, other than the scutes on the back and markings behind the eyes, is there a reliable way to differentiate species? Thanks for any info.

Well, it's a Ouachita map turtle as far as I can tell. The September hatching is still very strange to me.

Second year in a row....this time hatching was actually first week of October, but I did figure out they hatched on the last day of the full moon. From shell fragments looks to be around 7 or 8 hatchlings....2 were caught in swimming pool (again) this year, 1 had slow forming right eye....second year in a row for this eye issue also (1 had it last year).
