Blue Whale, large numbers

I'm not sure we should be putting this info out, is there chance that the pro whaling groups will use it to try and justify the resumtion of commercial Whaling?

So there's 55 now, where there were thousands before whaling started . . . small signs of a slight recovery, in other words. A long, long way to go yet. And a definite 'NO' to restarting whaling!

Yes, the last review of Antarctic Blue Whales estimated 2000: pre-whaling the population estimate was 250,000 - so they have recovered to less than 1% of the pre-whaling total... good news but not by any means spectacularly good!

And as Nutty says, "no" in 500 point flaming bold capitals!
