Bracket fungus for ID (1 Viewer)

Looks like a Trametes family member but underneath the pores were not small, smooth and round but decidedly tooth-shaped. Spores were sausage-shaped and measured ~ 6-8 x 2-2.5 µm. Any ideas. Thanks.

Hi Colin,

Oooohh lovely - This looks like Trametopsis cervina - Was it in Wales? I don't think it's ever been recorded there before. If you still have the collection or can revisit the site I'd recommend sending a dried specimen to Kew

Great stuff!

T.cervina was known under the name Antrodia pseudosinuosa in the UK up until last year when DNA sequencing proved that they are synonyms.
There's only a handful of sites in the UK that the species is known from - Please let us know whether the guys at Kew agree with my suggestion if you end up sending it (I'm no Polypore expert but I have had the pleasure of collecting this species).
