Greetings from Ocean Beach, which is next to Point Loma, San Diego CA. Fall migration is underway. A chance for us in the southern US to get a brief view of shorebirds in breeding plumage.

Regards,

Tom Blackman

Hi Tom,

A warm welcome to BirdForum from all the Admin and Moderators.

We are the the same here - waders are passing through still in breeding plumage. Beautiful.

Hi Tom,

No idea of birding in Ca, but I am envious of you living in San Diego - a fantastic city...

My family and I did a 3-week tour of California a few years back - got as far as San Diego and had an unscheduled stop for 6 days!! Other planned out of State attractions (Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, maybe Vegas) never happened...

Rgds.... Ruby

Hi, Tom!

May I second Robin's welcome to BirdForum!

A native Californian myself (Santa Monica) but living in AZ temporarily, I've really missed the shorebirds the past couple years. One of my favorite haunts there was Newport's back bay, and even little Ballona Creek up near Marina del Rey would turn up lovely treasures this time of year. Too bad I'm 600 miles from the nearest saltwater and about 7,000 ft. above the nearest beach! ;)

Look forward to your posts.
