I'm looking for computer software (Vista) for transferring all my birdwatching notes to my laptop. It must be easy to use, inputing data, yet searchable, for looking up information e.g. by date, location or bird.

Any one using something like what I'm after?????

There are several commercial programs that have the capabilites you want. The one I have is Birder's Diary, a very good program that I've used for years and am very satisfied with. The owner--Jones technologies--is very response to users' questions and to suggestions for improvements (I've made several of the latter over the years, most of which have been adopted). There's a 30-day trial period, so you can "try before buying". Here a link to the BD hompage: http://www.birdersdiary.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx
