Rather Odd Owl Record! (1 Viewer)

A rather belated news item for the Bird News Services:

A friend has been renovating an old cottage and stuffed behind one of the walls was a copy of "The Scotsman" dated July 1919!!!
Reading through it, the letters page contained an account of an Owl sighting in Edinburgh.

The species was not named, but the writer recalls "investigating the alarm calls of about 17 Blackbirds" which revealed an "Owl of huge size and beautiful plumage" sitting in a tree in shrubbery somewhere near the centre of Edinburgh.

Interesting anecdote. If anyone is interested in the full text of the letter let me know.
