He was a common sight in rallies but according to wiki never won any! That ruined a memory. I saw him at olivers mount in 1985 - missed the Lancia due to the long walk after bunking off school early. A now friend (met about 15 years ago) finished in a Lada.

There is a list of cars some of which would make you very rich now!

Coming back from Brecon I thought this was a little ironic.

Out of interest I am about to get a company car (and sell my Scirocco if any one is interested) - so the only choice I have is a 3 series BMW or an (all new) Audi A4.

For me the BMW 3GT is the one for me, but the Audi seems better inside.

What does the team think?

Hi Rob. I guess you know which one the magazines would recommend

Personally I think both would be great cars. Have you discounted the XE and C Class?

No I am really only allowed an A4 or BMW 3 series - no equivalents.

I'm guessing the BMW is RWD and the Audi is FWD - which could sway you - engine choices?
BMW newish and quite roomy by looks of it and Audi looking old...

BMW will be a chocolate tea pot in snow.

The Audi is the new model. I can only go by the magazines but they say the Bimmer drives better and has the better engines whilst the Audi has the better interior. Depends your style of driving I guess but given your car history Rob it sounds like you'd be better off with the BM. Both available with 4wd over here now Rosbifs.

I was zipping around in an S4 in October and it was excellent. This was a 2011 model and I liked the interior. Unfortunately, the gendarmes in England, or fear of them, means quite a lot of the power is dormant...

Quite right regarding the interior, although I have only seen the S line insider. I have owned quite a few BMs but the inside wasn't that great. However as Audi is part of VW and I already have a a VW perhaps I should take that as a warning. If I dither a bit I could get a '16' plate -wow!

Had a very decent days birding on The Gower today - Snow Bunting, Great Northern Divers, Slavonian Grebe etc. Car of the day however was a superb matt black Porker 918 coming from Pembrey (I presumed)

Again on the Gower a Bentley Bentayga pulled into the car park at Rhosilli as we were leaving yesterday. Always thought it looked a bit of a spud in the pictures. This was %100 confirmed on seeing it in the metal.

At the other day I had a chance to test drive a friend's new M3 (E46 - so not NEW new). It was awesome. If you needed, the power was enough to say at the least. I also managed to spin it - not all Finns can be Kimi Räikkönen! Fortunately nothing was broken. I found it only two faults: the roof can not be removed, and the sounds are nothing like my own toys sounds (even though they are in their class quite nice ...)

An Audi owners club was enjoying the roads around Lochcarron on Saturday. A couple of gorgeous quattros, RS4's some S4's and I'm pretty certain a RS2
