Dioptre Ring Stiff (1 Viewer)

I don't know but welcome.

Wild 98mm f/1.4 Falconer lens for medium format 70mm sprocketed film.
Nice lens.
Swiss made, very high quality.

I recently purchased Nikon Prostaff 5. The dioptre ring is stiff. Is that normal? I have a hard time turning the ring.

If it is really hard to turn, it is not normal. On diopters a little stiffness is a good thing but you don't want to sprain your thumb trying to turn it.:eek!:

If you can't get your dealer to replace it you will have to return it to Nikon.

Register it on line with Nikon per instructions if you haven't done so already.

Then call Nikon and tell them about your problem. Follow their instructions in shipping it back to them. In all likelihood they will send you a new one to replace it.
