ZEISS DTI thermal imaging cameras. For more discoveries at night, and during the day.

Hello from Calgary (1 Viewer)

I'm a bird photographer (not a birdwatcher) from frigid Calgary, where we have good bird photography conditions for about five months of the year. We have interesting birds here in the summer, but the season is short. To extend my activities I travel south during the winter to places like Florida and Central America.

From time to time I have questions about bird ID, and I think birdforum.net could be a useful resource to discover names.

Sometimes friends ask me why I photograph birds. That is a good question (why do they play golf?), but I think one answer is that it is a technical challenge, and another is that it is fun to share photos with others. So I'm looking forward to posting some pics here.

I'm also interested in the technical side of photography and learning how to improve my shooting.
