Som birds (and a bat) in N Sulawesi, Indonesia

Hi!

My girlfriend took some photos of birds when we were on holiday in Northern Sulawesi this august. Unfortunately I don't have a good field guide so I would really appreciate if I could get some help with identifying the following birds. The first three photos are from Bunaken Island (is the kingfisher a common kingfisher or a blue-eared kingfisher?), the shore-bird from Tangkoko. Also, if anyone know the name of the bat (also from Tangkoko) I would like to know.

Best regards,

Adam Oscarson

The wader looks like a Common Sandpiper.

Kingfisher is a Blue-eared
Other birds are Asian Glossy-Starlings
Not sure on the bat other than it's a fruit-bat!

The bat could well be a Pallas' Tube-nosed Bat (Nyctimene cephalotes)

Thanks for replys! Why is the Kingfisher a blue-eared? I Think it is hard to distinguish it from common kingfisher ssp hispidoides, so if I could get some help with that it would be great.

Yep, you're right Ad - it is indeed Common Kingfisher ssp hispidoides
Looking again with fresh eyes the all-black bill is of course one pointer away from Blue-eared
