Yearlist Vlog

I have been messing about with a couple of new toys I got at Christmas - a GoPro Hero 7 White and a Nikon P900. From watching tonnes of herping videos prior to going to the States last summer I thought I'd try and ape the style but with birding. I'm still working on my talking to camera (makes me cringe a bit, erm, err, erm etc) and my editing but I'm hoping to run two birding vlog playlists - Patchwork Challenge at Barmston and a Yearlist / birding highlights one.

The first videos of both are up - the PWC one is just an abridged version of the Yearlist one for Ep1 so here are links to Ep1 and 2 of the yearlist videos if anyone is interested. I also plan to do some botany and invert stuff in addition to holiday vlogs (hopefully La Janda in late August/early Sept).

The fourth video in the series with a gloomy morning on my patch, a brief catch up with local Whoopers and Red Kites before heading to Somerset where I found a Great White Egret on Pawlett Hams plus a Mediterranean Gull on the River Parrett and a Peregrine hunting Starlings at the Shapwick Heath roost.

Episode 5 - Not a rough-leg in sight although I did manage a nice flock of winter thrushes, a few fuzzy kingfishers and some flying little egrets.

I forgot to add Episode 6 so here are 6 & 7!

Episode 6 has some extended video of the Thornwick Grey Phalarope

https://youtu.be/8ADMVRojyLk

Episode 7 has an epic Starling roost at Shapwick Heath to close but also features the Flamborough Grey Phalarope, Marsh Tit, Peregrine, Crossbill, Treecreeper and Red-crested Pochard.

https://youtu.be/q4xYqQ4m_tM

The total now stands at 86 species and I need to start thinking about what I am missing and filling in the gaps (as well as continuing to get video of the decent birds I come across).
