Phone cam for digiscoping (and sound recording) (1 Viewer)

I see the "about-to-be-released" Samsung G800 boasts macro function, image stabilisation, 3x optical, 5 megapix as well as all the usual phone functions, mp3, web etc - maybe this is going to be the new digiscoping camera, assuming that some kind of adaptor can be attached. Anyone got any experience fo this? Or of using a mobile phone to record bird song/calls with a detached mic? If so which mic setup?

There's been people experimenting with this for some time. It seems to work a treat. This new Samsung sounds more like a camera with phone features. It will run your battery down fast if you use it for serious digiscoping.
My phone's shutter lag would be a problem for digiscoping but I'm sure the new cameras have improved this.
Neil.
