"Fall Colors" (1 Viewer)

Here's my most recent carving which is of course a rendition of a lifesized male American Goldfinch fluffed up trying to stay warm on a cold Fall day. Branch is carved. Black Oak leaves are made from brass sheeting. Base is a piece of Buckeye burl. Goldfinch is basswood and painted with acrylics. Fun piece. I think it has a sort of 'oriental' feeling to it.

I agree, a very nicely made statue, far more satisfying that the ones we collect.

I wish that I was as skilled.
