yes, ruddy turnstone (as in the americas there is also black turnstone).

Thanks both. I have difficulty seeing a RuTu here, they usually appear more elongated to me?

Because it is preening, head over its shoulder, and tail cocked up so it can reach its preen oil gland :t:
