Yellowish Bunting from Northern Pakistan (1 Viewer)

Saw this single bird, mixed with Water Pipits at Borith Lake (36°25'35.813" N 74°51'46.992" E), Upper Hunza, Pakistan, on November 18, 2019. My first impression is Yellowhammer, which might be a rare vagrant to the area. If not Yellowhammer, what else it can be?

Looks good for Yellowhammer to me at first sight. You may need to check more carefully as Yellowhammer is known to hybridise with Pine Bunting, although I do not have the books here to confirm that.

Cheers

Hello Gilgit2

According to my book "Birds of the Middle East" it is a Yellowhammer. In the book is also mentioned hybrid between bUnting and Yellowhammer. But this look like a pure breed Yellowhammer

Sorry, someone else already replied

Kind regards and happy birding

It's a winter visitor to the Indian Himalayas, so I see no reason why it wouldn't turn up there, but it must be a significant record for Pakistan.
