Marsh Marigolds? -Sutherland (1 Viewer)

These are growing in the River Brora, in the water beside the banks. We've had a long dry spell and the river has been low for weeks. I'm guessing the first spate that comes along with wash them away. Are these one of the marsh marigolds?

I was once berated by a certain W.E.O on Shetland for not knowing what this was.

We were sat in a hide and there had been Black-headed Bunting around, I called it as it flew and he asked where id dropped in. I said 'behind those Marsh Marigold' things'....'Marsh Marigolds, Marsh Marigolds' he spluttered in to his tea, 'They're not Marsh Marigolds' he continued and went on to roundly scold me in lieu of all absent birders in the UK who don't know enough about the wider, natural World.

Thanks aeshna. I get that Andy, took me 10 years to get my head around photography, then I ventured into birds and discovered seagulls alone require a PhD. Now I've noticed there are plants, flowers and trees everywhere I go . . .
