Moth trap recommendation (1 Viewer)

With the different types of moth trap available I was just wondering which would be the most suitable for a beginner? It would also be good to hear people's thoughts on mains v/s battery operated moth traps.

Hi Emma
You may get more of a response if you transfer this to the ´butterflies and moths´ section.
The type of trap really depends on what you want to do and where.
If it´s just trapping at home then a mains operated trap would be suitable and best. If you want to travel futher afield then a battery operated trap is best, unless you can afford to invest in a generator.
I would probably go for a 15 watt actinic trap, either a Heath or a Skinner model. Mains or battery depends on the answer to the questions above.
Whichever you choose, good luck with the trapping.
