Yesterday we went to Merritt Island NWR. Unfortunately it was quite a windy day and that may have depressed the numbers. Whatever the reason, there were far fewer birds and species of birds present than we usually see there. We did see quite a few alligators, some quite large, one possibly up to 12'.
Here's the list of birds that we saw as far as I can remember. These were all seen from the car.

American White Pelican
Brown Pelican
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Tricolored Heron
Little Blue Heron
Green Heron
Blue-winged Teal
Northern Shoveller
Gadwall
Ring-necked Duck
Pied-billed Grebe
American Coot
Common Moorhen
Red-winged Blackbird
Gray Catbird
Painted Bunting
Boat-tailed Grackle
American Crow
Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Mourning Dove
Florida Scrub Jay
Osprey
Greater Yellowlegs
Least Sandpiper
Anhinga
Double-crested Cormorant
Roseate Spoonbill
Palm Warbler
Common Merganser
Belted Kingfisher
