Duck - Central France - Possible female Scaup? (1 Viewer)

Saw this 18th October at the L'Etang des Landes reserve just south of the centre of France. It was at quite some distance. Snapshots of the video weren't great so identification might be better viewing the 40 seconds or so of the video.

To be honest when filming it I thought it was a Pochard. However the white markings at the bill I saw later made me think it could be a Scaup (Aythya marila), which for the location would be quite unusual.

No head shape and bill coloration clearly say common pochard, also the uniformely grey body .

either some reflection from wet feathers or wet base of bill (as the white isn´t allways visible ,it seems) or a bird with unusually pronounced pale area at base of bill

Thanks for the replies

Yep, it's just a pochard. In my keeness to spot something more unusual I ignored the obvious signs it was a pochard. Thanks or for looking anyway.:t:
