Hi, besides the birds on the lake, I saw a small bird that looked similar to a martin, but would martins still be around (25/11/07)? what else could it be?

It is possible for one or two martins to be around, a few are sighted in the UK every winter, but it would be a very rare thing. Could it have been a pied wagtail, or even a green sandpiper?

I have seen House Martins and Swallows well into late November, even early December, but usually on in mild conditions.
