Found this fellow today and was struck by its striking markings- think it is a orb spider- one of the larger ones I have seen around here. It was a little shy about having its picture taken so I captured it in a glass jar for its photo shoot.

I'd def. say Cross Orbweaver.

Not to be preachy but i'd reckon it would be happier in it's natural settings than in a jar.

(Nice closeup of the markings btw)
