which subspecies of Jackdaw, SE Romania (1 Viewer)

Please can anyone advise whether the Jackdaw in the photo is of a different subspecies than what would be seen in the UK, and if so, in what way it would differ. I read that the Jackdaws in that part of the world are of a different ss but I cannot see a difference right now.

From the brown in the wings, this is a young bird so it probably won't have fully developed the characteristics to allow racial ID?

The subspecies breeding in Romania is Coloeus monedula soemmerringii; but differences from the UK breeding C. m. spermologus are subtle at best - they intergrade, and individuals resembling each subspecies can occur in the ranges of the other. So you may as well tick the subspecies on its location, but it isn't a very significant one (don't think it'll ever get split!).
