Could these be Bovista limosa?

Lots of tiny bovista-type puffballs on sandy soil grassland. The largest was only 10mm some a lot smaller. Or are they just going to grow bigger?Globular spores with long tails and spore deposit olive-green.

Sorry for late reply, took me a while to locate my Bovista key.

Yes, I think you're right. The spores seem mature so if we assume 10mm as a +/- maximum size it should be B.limosella.

Cheers,
Nick

Thanks Nick, I assume B. limosa and B. limosella are the same thing?

Sorry, I meant to type B.limosa - I was simultaneously reading an article on the genus Limacella last night and obviously my brain got overloaded.

Cheers,
Nick
