Looked quite big to me with dark upper parts, but I'm unsure of best way to tell the difference.

GBB - thick bill, white tips on both primaries 1 & 2 (just a small white spot on P1 in LBB), pink feet (bright yellow in LBB) :t:
 
The easiest way on a flight view, is to look for contrast between the wings and wing tips. GBbG is uniformly dark whilst Lesser, shows noticeably darker wing tips - most of the time!

Goodness me, I'm commenting on Gulls, I must be ill..............
