hello from The New Forest area.
I have little knowledge of birds but my passion is to photograph them in their natural habitat. I'm not very mobile on my feet at the moment so any advice welcome.

Hi Reddave and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here. I look forward to hearing your news and will hopefully see some of your pictures in the Gallery too.

Hi Dave and welcome from Sheffield. Actually thats a fib because I am on holiday in the Western Isles of Scotland! Its great that you decided to join us.

If you have mobility issues then providing you can access transport then I recommend finding views over a pond or river or a heath and taking a flask of tea or coffee and something to eat and sitting down with your binos and camera and waiting to see what comes.

This might seem boring but there is always much to learn and enjoy from watching what even familiar birds get up to and when you have visited a site a couple of times you will know where the best places to sit for photography purposes are. Charging about chasing stuff isn't always the best way, sitting and lurking and letting birds and other stuff get used to your presence can be more rewarding.

Good luck.
