Hi all,
I need a book for the identification of British Orchids, which is the best one for this job?

I use The Wildflower Key by Francis Rose; it's a proper botany book. It has about 20 pages on orchids with good drawings. My copy is about 20 years old but I think there are newer editions. Maybe you want something more specific though.

Hi Josh,

Without a shadow of doubt I would recommend Simon & Anne Harrap's 'Orchids of Britain and Ireland - A field and site guide (ISBN-13: 9781408105719).

This would be more choice too- light enough for the field, superb photos, lots of detail + site info too!

The Harrap book is the one to have.Too many errors in the Wildguides book.
