Rare and Scarce Birds in Warwickshire (1 Viewer)

Bittern at Ladywalk

Hi All

Went to see the Ladywalk Bittern yesterday. Because it is a common and not scarce sighting there, I ended up posting a note on the Birds of Warwickshire thread, when in hindsight, maybe it should still have been on here. So to balance that out, and give the likes of Bob Duckhouse and Max Silverman a giggle, here are one or two poor digiscoped record-shots, hastily taken when the bird started walking along the front of the reedbed 'top right' from the River Walk hide. As you'll see, it then flew off (at 12.45pm) and headed over to the reeds nearer Hide B, where there was no further sign of it when I left an hour later.

Cheers

Andy R.

Hooded Crow?

I see a Hooded Crow was reported at Packwood back in October according to a recent post on Warks birding blog. Last record in county appears to be in 1987 according to WMBC website. Interestingly a Nordic-type Jackdaw was photographed in that area earlier this year too.
