Let me apologize up front for the quality of the attached images. I blame the bird as it just would not sit still for a portrait! These are the best I could do through the needles of the pine tree. I saw this little guy while hiking in Chimney Rock Canyon in Capitol Reef National Park back in October. Maybe a Junco?

That certainly makes more sense than my guess! The tiny beak was really throwing me off (that's what was really making me question what kind of bird this is).

I'm worse at trees than I am at identifying birds. I always joke with my wife that there are two kinds of trees, Christmas trees and "other." 8-P
