Today I saw a Euphonia that I am unable to identify. Like the subject-line says, I think it is either Purple-throated or Finsch's Euphonia.
I heard a bird sound out front of the house that I had never heard before. When I got there I was just in time to see a small bird fly across the street and land on the power line. By the time I got over there it had flown to a nearby TV antenna. It was dark purplish-blue above and on the throat; bright orange-yellow underneath and on the forecrown. Does anyone have any idea what it was?
