I once went birdwatching at a place near where I live and didnt even see a single bird!
Is this a common occurence. Is it a world record.

It certainly can be, particularly at midday in late August, with the breeding season mostly over and with both adults and fledged young lying doggo.

Don't you have any gulls in Bolton? Perhaps David Cameron should go there on holiday!
