Hello,

I'm trying to identify the type species for the following generic names by Boetticher, Zool. Anz. 1951. My usual resources are failing me!

Is anyone able to state/confirm types for the following and, if possible, direct me to a suitable (online) resource.

Leucolybius (= Lybius leucocephalus?)
Murututtu (= Trachyphonus erythrocephalus?)
Phalacrobucco (= Gymnobucco sladeni?)

Thanks in advance!

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

von Boetticher named not less than 5 new subgenera in his 1951 paper:
Eolybius, type spec.: Pogonias (Laimodon) melanopterus Peters
Leucolybius, type spec.: Laimodon leucocephalus Defilippi
Pogonodon, type spec.: Pogonias undatus Rüppell
Murututtu, type spec.: Bucco margaritatus Cretzschmar
Phalacrobucco,type spec.: Gymnobucco peli Hartlaub

Hope this is of some help.
Norbert
