Leica Binoculars

Hello to all members,
I wish everyone a fine evening and I hope everyone has had a pleasant day. Just a short message of words asking for advice on a pair of Leica binoculars.
My brother has sent his Leica 10x50 BN back to Leica for a service and for them to take a look at the lens, they have a few scratches on all the lens surfaces due to my brother's heavy use of such equipment. As I always look after and i'm always careful when using binoculars, unfortunately sometimes our equipment does suffer from constant use.My question is, will Leica add completely new lens and how long at a rough estimate could one be likely to await final completion?
Also i've heard from past comments and posts by various people that (Leica) haven't always provided the best towards customer service. However, with their close competitors nowadays have Leica upped their game and what is their customer service like nowadays?I've always heard of Swarovski's wonderful service provided to their customer's and i'm about to send my EL'S for a complete service also.Any information would be very much welcomed. Thank you.
My best regards, David.

I would suggest the Leicas will be away for at least 6 weeks to provide an estimate, acceptance and payment then return. Dependant on the covering letter sent, it may well be the case they replace the lenses rather than remove, recoat and rebuild but it's very unlikely a warranty issue. However, with your Swarovskis the company is renowned for their excellent after sales satisfaction and goodwill. A standard service should be within their operation if you have looked after them well.
Good luck.

This thread should be moved to the Leica subforum.

Maybe a moderator will notice.
