Age for Red Kite, UK (photo's).

From today, NW Worcester.

It has juvenile and adult features so I'm guessing second plumage?

What do you see as juvenile traits?

To me it's a full adult bird, with pale bill and eyes, underparts with black shaft-streaks and adult underwing marking.

Thanks, Peter.

I don't think the tail looks very long and the corners don't look very long or sharply pointed. Also, it has a narrow sub-terminal band (?).

The black breast-streaks don't look particularly heavy.

Overall, I got the feeling that it wasn't quite into adult plumage yet.
