I had no luck with the robins and nuthatches yesterday so I thought I'd practice on the mallards with my new camera.
At the pond I was at, most of the angles just reflected the white overcast sky and it wasn't really working out until I lowered my tripod to just a few inches off the ground and...
Lately, these little swallows have been letting me walk right up to them. Today I decided to try my 100mm macro lens to see if I could get a decent shot. I think it went pretty well - most of the shots were similar in quality to my 400mm ones. This shot is about 25% of the frame.
One of the too many chickadee photos I took on the weekend. It's just so much fun photographing these tiny birds. This chickadee is perhaps wondering why I have some stupid happy look on my face.
I really have a lot of chickadee photos now! I like the pose in this one.
I could've stopped down a bit for more dof because the bird was so close. Probably something else would have gone wrong though!
