One eyed lesser redpoll - lifer. It's not a lifer cos it's only got one eye but because I've never captured a redpoll before. I think that it has a tick just to the left below the beak. It seemed healthy enough.
Think I can say with reliability that this is a Lesser Redpoll from info from Terryerye. One from my visit with Tom to Terry NWs Garden.

Probably one of this years youngsters. It's amazing the colour variations and sizes of these birds when you get to see them at close range and study them. I was lucky enough to get 2 Mealy redpolls in the garden the other day.
I was particularly pleased with this one as i have never seen a redpoll eating grubs before,managed one good shot out of two.had a great time yesterday,on arrival Nigel Kiteley was in the c/park totally unexpected,had a great time and a good laugh and managed some very pleasing shots,it was one...
