A closer look

I found my first Adder of the year yesterday

Four Adders in the same spot, a new record for me, one more than my previous record! ;) Three females and one male I think

Possibly the same female as my previous post, it was in the same place anyway

Nice colouring and markings on this one, a fairly big snake, so a female maybe?

Basking on a sunny morning, I know they can vary a lot in colour, but I've never seen one as yellow as this one!

Had a couple of hours free on Sunday afternoon, so went looking for some adders. Was very pleased to see three! Here's one that was curled up absorbing the hazy sunshine.

A male and female I think, the stronger marked one was considerably smaller than the other, about 35cm long and it's head only about the size of my little finger nail Taken in the same place as my previous posts so probably the same snakes

Caught this one as it slithered across the dead leaf making a nice plain bg for a head shot

A nice sunny morning so I thought I would look for some Adders and found three sunning themselves at the base of a Bramble

Was able to get so close to this female Adder, I ended being able to use my macro lens

well my head is going left but 80% of my body is going right at the same time. ;);
