I stumbled accross a pair of these lovely birds in an area of sandy scrub along the mozambiquan coastline near vilanculo. they simultaneously flew up (scaring the life out of me!) and then resettled only about 3m away. Knowing they were there, I scanned and scanned until eventually I found one...

pair was busy building a nest, female doing most of the work while the male was watching from nearby.

One of a pair foraging early morning for food

Blue Swallow, Hirundo atrocaerulea, Stahlschwalbe I saw this metallic blue Beauty when we drove down the Nile to our Lunch boat. After Lunch I couldnt resist and tried to get a shot. This is the Best I could come up with. Well, better than nothing. Is a Lifer for me and so, Im most def. happy :)
