Found this fellow on bushes around place we were staying on the Big Island.
Checking things out from the rafters of a restaurant in Maui during breakfast. Originally from Africa, this bird was first sighted in Hawai'i in the early 70's. Introduction date unknown.
A rather rare Estrildid finch found in small numbers on the coastal strip of The Gambia. This is a small drab finch-like bird with grey-brown upperparts, pale buff underparts & a dark, somewhat pointed tail; the most obvious feature being the large silver bill!
