A flock of American Goldfinches were feeding on pine cones. First time I've seen them do this. I usually see them on thistles of which there were plenty in the vicinity.

Here is the lady of one of the pairs.
I have several pairs of Goldfinches now back to the backyard. They like the Red-bellied Woodpeckers had disappeared for a while, not sure if they were family raising or some other reason, but they are back now and a welcome addition of color to the yard.
