I watched this robin foraging on the ground for a few minutes then got this image when it caught dinner and perched on a branch above its foraging ground.
This is a rare partial albino morph robin that appeared for a few consecutive years in my sister's yard and neighborhood. She has since disappeared, so we fear she is no longer living. Close up, you can see she has mottling even on her feet.
This bird repeatedly, over several days, was seen foraging for and catching insects along the rocky shore of Lake Ontario, often standing in water up to a cm or more deep as waves washed in. The temperature was 33C+ at the time, but I don't think that it was just cooling off, though it did drink.
