Sorry for the double post of this photo but I hadn't realized that the comp this month was Birds and Water when I posted the first time and don't know any way to change the caetgory...
Taken in the yard, in spring large groups of Robins(10-50) come into the yard to finish off whatever berries are left from the winter. When they find the berries you have acouple of hours to take pics before they eat every berry in the tree.
Noticed this unusual subject in the park digging for food. Confirmed on the Q & A forum that it is indeed an Robin with a leucistic condition; hundreds of other (black w/ orange) Robins were throughout the park feeding and fighting today.
This photo was taken outside at the Franklin Park Conservatory in a grassy area with the blue glass spikes made by Dale Chihuly.
The robin was no more than 5 feet away and didn't seem to mind me being so close.
