american robin

First one I've sighted this season! I heard this robin but didn't see it a few days back. Yesterday I finally saw it hopping around on a shed rooftop. Long zoom here and of COURSE he wouldn't turn around. Even though it wouldn't cooperate for a better shot, it was a welcome sight to see!

..that this means an early Spring.

I was at a park trying to find the ducks on the lake but the low fog was too thick. This little guy landed near me and seemed to enjoy posing for the camera.

Wish I had some snow here for the holidays but it's been a couple years since we've seen it here. The last few days have fun. We had several hundred robins arrive to eat the berries on all the native toyon trees. They've now moved on further up the road so I've got lots of pictures to go...

I spotted this robin working the edge of our lawn as I was walking back t the woods. No pictures from the woods so I thought that I would post a couple this fellow.

This picture's from last summer. This juvenile American Robin was following its dad around, learning how to find worms.
