This robin was busy gobbling down some wild cherries. I was able to get several shots with him holding them in his mouth, and even swallowing, but this one is almost like he noticed me focusing on him, and decided to give me a proper look.

Robins are Michigan's state bird. We have millions of them here. Most Michiganders attribute the first Robin siting of the year as a sign of spring, but they (Robins) sometimes never migrate south during the winter.
This is perhaps the plumpest one I have ever seen.
The berries are getting hard to find on the trees now but I did see a flock of about 100 searching for more this morning in time for the Great Backyard Bird Count.
Sorry I haven't been around much. We've had over 500 robins in our neighborhood for the past three days. By the third day most of the berries had been eaten off the trees so the robins started eating the berries that had fallen on the ground. I loved having so many birds here but they kept...
Robins are common sights year round but the larger flocks should soon arrive to eat the red berries on the toyon trees. This male and a female are the first arrivals.
