Note some of the feathers of the 'remiges' are missing. Any of you who have heard hummingbirds are familiar with the characteristic sounds they make. However, with feathers missing, the sound will change: anywhere from a soft 'brrrrrrrr', to a stacato 'twrrrrr'.
