I've discovered that sitting in a car on my Mom's driveway makes a great "hide" for watching the Anna's hummers as they sip pineapple sage and crocosmia (also called mombretia) or perch in the quava bushes or the tipu tree for an overview, or maybe just a rest. So that's what I did for...

Photographed in our garden early this morning. Quite a few birds now that most Snobirds have left to their homes up north. Good indication is that all our feeders are emptied to the bare walls every morning. We love it.

Photographed this male Anna's Hummingbird in the garden this mornng. With the Snobirds leaving and taking down about 30 HB feeders in my little area there will soon be hardly any competion the Hummers. I love the Snobirds as they really boost our economy every winter.
