    I recently saw a film on Nat Geo' about the birds on Great Saltee, it brought back memories. If any of you get the RSPB magazine 'Birds' you will see a spectacular image of Great Saltee on the front cover by Danny Green. A beautiful place.

    A lot of my Ireland shots are now put to CD. I took hundreds of shots and was very pleased with how nearly all turned out. You can't ask for more....except for sand-eels, in the puffin's bills and sometimes a softer light, but wow what a holiday. I will upload just a few more Ireland shots...

    These birds may seem odd or comical but they put up with so much from the much bigger birds and so I admire them for their gutsy determination..to me they are a little more than special, they are wonderful to watch even with a 150ft drop and no safety net! I think Annette and Clive did very well...

    Another of the many Puffin images taken on the Farnes last week, this time a grab shot with the 20D and 310mm on the 100-400mm, uncropped. Edit, I should add also that IS was OFF, unecessary at these shutter speeds and I think it impedes AF tracking. 2006:07:07 12:22:52 100-400mm @ 310mm 1/1000...

    When I visited Saltee with Clive and Annette I made sure I got myself the bog standard puffin shot ..on a rock with nothing but sea or sky or both. I was able to get just the one shot before the opportunity went. Sorry about the quality of the upload. I have been attempting to get the pictures...
