audouin's gull

So I was taking a burst series of the gull bathing when suddenly it took off. I noted red bill and black legs and the only gull I could find to match that was Audouin's Gull. Didn't dare post that without checking with ID forum, afraid I might be biased towards the lifer ID. Luckily for me, ID...

I noticed this gull quite a distance across the pond, flapping and comporting. There were many gulls even further back on the pond. Apparently a popular bathing spot for gulls.

Managed to snap this Audouin's gull whilst in Majorca, it was just north of Ca'n Picafort on the river.

Audouins Gulls have started to return from their wintering grounds of West Africa. This bird was born 4 years ago in the colony of Delta del Ebro, the most important in the world for this species. This elegant gull looks stunning during the breeding season, with its bright red bill.

This bird was not easily scared, and sat watching us taking a picture without flinching once.
