Bird Billabong tends to dry out once the wet season is over. Only days earlier, the billabong was probably packed with Australian Pelicans, Magpie Geese and various ducks and shorebirds. When we got there, there were still large dense flocks feeding out on the remaining water, but Roger and...
Here's one of my Pelican shots.......seemed to be hard of hearing :)
Quite a poser and I got heaps of shots and so did Pete, it's the only place that I can take him and he actually gets out of the car and strolls around and get some beautiful photos.
Hope you like it!
Hi all, thought this appropriate for this months comp.....I had taken Pete down to Queenscliff so that he would take some photos, having been house-bound for a while due to the heatwave! He got some great shots and as I was standing on the wharf one of the fishermen threw a small fish to the...

If ever anyone wants to see Pelicans this is the place for them! We stopped along the Esplanade and I saw about 20 flying around and also several on the beach even though there were a lot of dogs running around and jumping in the water! Pete was telling me that these two were there whilst I was...
this pair were coming in to our local lagoon as it was being drained after the recent rain. At one stage there were 26 pelicans. The most I've seen in the area.
