    Stand Off

Just look at the size difference and you'll get some idea of how brave Willie-wagtails can be. Think he must have had a nest or young in the vicinity for he came out onto the path to distract the Australian Ravens, and attempt to chase them off. We stood and watched the Willie-wagtail's antics...

    Ever hopeful?

No sooner had I sat down to give my back a rest an Australian Raven landed on the rail. Guess he was hoping for some food LOL. He was out of luck though, as it was all in the car!!!! Trouble is, he really does have a bit of an evil eye, doesn't he?

On the large size for a white-eye!

An Australian Raven came down to the water trough as well. I zoomed in but haven't cropped this image at all. Tomorrow I'll show you a view of the feeders from the hide, giving an idea of the reach of this camera's zoom lens.

    Jay Walkers..... guess not!

We eventually came out onto the main road that ran up the other side of the mountains from where we were staying.... rather a rough track all the way, so maybe a long road for a short-cut comes to mind LOL. Rounding a series of bends we came across a group of Australian Raven, with a couple of...

I'm not going to look at that camera!!

After breakfast I managed to get this rather uncoperative Australian Raven in the yard before we set off. At least I did get the bill, or ID might have been a bit trickier LOL. Saturday Fun
  19. Balancing

    Balancing

I feel this Australian Raven looks rather more benign than in some poses. They were rather regular visitors to the dam while we were there.
  20. A large white eye

    A large white eye

Three Australian Ravens flew in for, guess what, a drink LOL. (did I tell you it was hot?) This is one of them. I love the eye!

    Off he goes

A group of three Australian Ravens popped in for a drink as well, my first sighting of them. They didn't stay long, this is one of them flying off.

    What have you got

On the other side of the road to where we'd parked beside the lake were two Australian Ravens. Have zoomed in, and blown up the picture, I still can't work out what they've got there to so interest them LOL
  25. Bravery

    Bravery

We'd now got ourselves into a swampy area, rather than the open water of the lake. On the path in front of us were another two Ravens and a Willie-Wagtail who was trying to chase them off. I presume he had a nest or youngsters nearby. The last two images I got he was right in amongst them, but...
