Well, there you go, I hadn't noticed this area before, glad I've found it now. I've been walking at the reservoir as often as possible and one of my goals has been to view and photograph the Crossbills up there, sometimes I see them, sometimes I don't :( but, I've been putting together a photo...
Almost at the end of my reservoir walk, I stopped to photograph some Bullfinches on heather when more walkers arrived and scared them away but, I looked up and these guys weren't bothered at all. Nice end to the year, photographically speaking.
Happy New Year to everyone.

It's the top end of the reservoir where there's a car park and picnic area, though I rarely see it busy. This picture is looking...

A couple of weeks after the Kestrel picture at Backwater, we returned, so it was more-or-less this same time of year.
I was rather taken with the look of these snowberries in the damp atmosphere.

After taking the pictures of the Kestrel, the weather really closed in and I couldn't resist taking this picture looking across the loch as the rain cloud swarmed over the hill towards us.
It got a bit wet for a while;)
